The Valley Bulldogs Rugby Football Club is an extremely social organization which has experienced great on-field accomplishment in the past few years. Founded in 1987, the Bulldogs have achieved success at the provincial and Maritime levels, winning 1st and 2nd division titles in the past few seasons. Currently the club runs three teams consisting of a Womens Team, 2nd Division Team and 1st Division Team. In 2008 the Bulldogs took home the Caledonia Cup after winning the 1st Division Maritime Championship!
We draw players from all over the province, and once a member you'll see why our club members maintain close contact should they have to move from the province. Past players frequently rejoin us at tournaments and gatherings throughout the year. We have a brother club in Florida, The Orlando Griffins, and we come together annually to compete as the "Griffdogs". The Bulldogs have just finished a successful first season with the women's team formally the Valley Tide RFC. Congrats ladies and good luck in the years to come!
The Valley Bulldogs Rugby Football Club fields 3 teams. Mens Divison 1 and 2 as well as a Womens team. The club is always welcoming new memebers. If you are interested in joing the club please contact the club by email at valleybulldogs@hotmail.com or show up at training.
The mens team has had some very successful seasons in the past. Most recently capturing the 2008 Division 1 Maritime Championship. The mens sides field a Division 1 team. The mens side is looking for a great season in 2011 and hoping to return to the top of the Rugby Nova Scotia standings in the 1st division in 2011.
Last year marked the first year of the Valley Bulldogs fielding a womens team, formally the Valley Tide. The women have showed some great
play during the first season with the club and look to build off the first great season heading into 2011.
New for 2011 the Bulldogs will also be fielding a Womens Jr. 7's side which will play before most womens games this season
The Valley Bulldogs Rugby Football club always welcomes new members to the team. If you are a serious player, or just looking for some fitness and fun, you will find it all as a Bulldog. Our practices are Tuesday and Thursday nights starting at 6:30pm at our new location at the Coldbrook Lions Hall during the season. All players must be registered with the Valley Bulldogs RFC prior to being able to play. To complete a registration form just click here to download a copy and bring it to practice. In the off season winter months we get together every Sunday for buggers at the Kentville Indoor Facility.
